Fire-cupping or dry-cupping is applied to muscle fibers and tissues where there is tightness and congestion to increase circulation and blood flow of local areas of the body.

The cups may also be moved to slide and manipulate fascia with the assistance of massage oil or lotion to increase range of motion and remove stagnation.

Stationary cupping can also provide relief to stiffness of the muscle fibers by forcing the stagnated blood up to the surfaces.
